The Bali Botanic Garden
Eka Karya Botanic Garden, also known as The Bali Botanic Garden in Bali, was officially On 15 July 1959,and established on the slopes of Tapak Hill, Candikuning village, Tabanan Regency. The Bali Botanic Garden is home of more than 2000 species of plants are preserved on 157.5 hectares of land, where this natural place is represent plants from montane areas of the eastern Indonesia: Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua. The main collection of Bali Botanic Garden are divided into several subsection: , Balinese ceremonial plants (218 species), medicinal plants (300 species),orchids (293 species), cacti (68 species), ferns (80 species), begonia (200 species), and various aquatic plants. The Botanic garden itself is home to around 79 species of wild birds.
Bali Botanic Garden is unique in Bali as a place for botanical research, conservation, education and recreation. The Bali Botanic Garden provides a place where you can relax in beautiful and peaceful surroundings while learning about the use of plants in the daily lives of Balinese people as well as many interesting tropical rainforest plants and birdlife.
The Bali Botanic Garden is situated on 1250 meters above sea level with area 157.5 hectares (389 acres) and take 2 hours drive from Denpasar to be found. Temperature is about 17 – 25 centigrade in daytime drop to 10 – 15 centigrade at night with humidity 70-90%. The weather is very fresh, usually this place so busy on the weekend, many student and local tourist come by bus or private car.
